This upstate comp is more of a straight garage comp, but does have a mix of other sounds.
I didn't plan on it, but as I was making the comp I liked both side of the 45s &
decided to make the whole CD that way. I'm not positive on the location info
on all the bands, it can come from label or other source.
Porter & The Bellhops is Tambourine basher, garage with a bit of a surf sound. The Endless
Knights 45 is a good garage tune backed with a nice Zombies covers. Electric Elves
are Ronnie Dio's band. The Sure Cure were also known
as the Pineapple Heard & Wool. Johnny & The Volumes is a trashy 2-sider. Limie -T - Royal's A-side is
a hippie peace punker. The Alan 45 has 2 different backing bands. The Town Criers
are more downstate, then upstate, but I wanted to include because I've
never seen it mentioned anywhere & it's a pretty cool 45.
I started making Upstate comps, after the Rockin Rochester comps.
