i've given this album 5 stars for the content. sinnerman is one of the greatest track ever recorded and the whole album is awash with pure nina simone quality, my only grumble is how can anybody compile a "best of" album and not included "my baby just cares for me" ? however if you are new to the work of nina simone just listen and be prepared to be pleased.
"i loves you porgy", "mississippi goddamn", "don't let me be misunderstood".. when i bought this cd, all i knew about nina simone was "little girl blue". and i didn't even know this as a nina simone classic; i knew the janis joplin version.. basically first when i listen to nina simone i was amazed by her voice. and the more i listened to her, the more i liked her voice. this cd has got all her best it is a good starting point.
