Rather Ripped is the title of the forthcoming album by Sonic Youth, to be released on June 13, 2006It is the last album the band has to release to fulfill theircontractual obligation to Geffen Records. It has been confirmed thatJim O'Rourkewill not take part in making the record. It was reported that some ofthe gear stolen in 1999 was surprisingly recovered and that it might beused for recording of the album. The album has been described byThurston Moore as "a super song record" containing "rockers andballads". The album's working title was "Sonic Life".
