Torrent description
G.I. Joe Number 21. The silent issue. No dialogue, no narrative, just action, emotion, and resolution, all without a text box or word ballon drawn.
Arguably the greatest Joe story ever told. Fans have raved about it since it was first published in March 1984. Written and drawn by Larry Hama, but without a single actual word in it. Various comic book writers have said that they received inspiration from this issue.
In addition to being the first appearance of Storm Shadow, It also hints at a link between Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes: they both have the same tattoo.
Now, flash forward 25 years. Hasbro commissions new writers and artists to expand upon these old stories for the 25th anniversary of the franchise.
One of these expansions details all the things that happened between the scenes in the original issue. While it was a good idea, I really didn't recall all the points in the original issue. So I read that again. Then, since I've been in such a remixing frame of mind, I decided to combine the old story and the new one into one narrative. I made no attempt to alter the old scan to match the new one, I just properly slotted the new pages into the old ones. I did leave out the summary page from the new one, as it ruins the story of what happened in the original.
For fans of the original, enjoy some of the new action. If you haven't read the old one, you have really missed out. Enjoy.
