\'Girl From Mars\' is, of course, one of the biggest hits from county Down teen rock sensations Ash, propelling the pop-rock trio to fame in 1995. But in 2008, concerned and confused Northern Irish residents are reporting a strange new transmission, being picked up on their wireless radios.

The Girl From Mars, the most recent radio play from Lucy Caldwell, takes its title from the teen tykes top 40 hit, first broadcast Tuesday, June 3.

The play is the latest in a string of high-profile productions penned by Ms Caldwell, with previous drama including Leaves at the Royal Court.

So here we have it - a plum chance to catch compelling and original drama from one of Northern Ireland\'s rising stars.
