Omri (Hal Scardino) krijgt op zijn negende verjaardag twee wel heel speciale cadeautjes. Het eerste is een kastje dat op het eerste gezicht doodnormaal lijkt. Het tweede is een plastic indiaantje, dat zijn beste vriend hem schenkt. Voor het slapen gaan, stopt hij het indiaantje in het kastje. Maar wanneer hij \'s ochtends wakker wordt, ontdekt Omri iets vreemds: het indiaantje is tot leven gekomen...

On his ninth birthday a boy receives many presents. Two of them first seem to be less important: an old cupboard from his brother and a little Indian figure made of plastic from his best friend. But these two presents turn out to be much more magic than the rest...
