'Closer' is the first single from Ne-Yo's upcoming album 'Year Of The Gentleman'. The song is produced by Stargate.
The song was released as a digital download in the UK on May 5th 2008 and will be released as a CD single on June 23rd 2008.

The video was filmed at Santa Clara Studios, California. It was directed by Melina Matsoukas who also directed his Because Of You and Do You videos. The video premiered on BET on April 25th 2008, playing every hour of the day with the last airing being at 7 PM. It features Ne-Yo performing dance moves, with lyrics from the song occasionally appearing on-screen. 'Closer' debuted at No.22 in the UK Singles Chart on downloads only, and continued to climb in the following weeks. On June 11th 2008 it climbed further to No.5.
