Plot: The director of CENTRAL STATION and THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES, Walter Salles, together with Daniela Thomas, create yet another powerful, moving and thought provoking portrayal of the modern Brazilian experience. Set in luring and often dangerous Sao Paulo, LINHA DE PASSE tells the story of four brothers who seek redemption from a grim and seemingly futureless existence, trying not to subside to the ready-to-grab choice of a criminal life. Not withstanding this fairytale friendly premise, Salles’ film is not at all condescending or morally uplifting and it prefers a realistic approach over the temptation of a happy ending.
